Greetings and salutations, Readers and Writers! My name is Rob Smales, and this is my website; a place for stories to be told and talked about, and for me to occasionally pat myself on the back for getting something published.

Getting Dark on Citywide Blackout . . .

Back on July 21, 2016, I made the trek into Cambridge, Massachusetts to spend a little time with Max Bowen on his show, Citywide Blackout, on WEMF Radio. Max spends a couple of hours every Thursday night talking to local authors, artists, and musicians, and asking them questions about why and how they do what they do. I sat down with Max for the first half-hour of the show to to discuss my collection of thirteen dark stories, Echoes of Darkness. Max had some good questions, and I had a lot of fun. You can check out the interview below.

The clip below is just my interview, with even the musical break cut out to make it as short as possible for you (about 25 minutes). If you're interested in the full show (Citywide Blackout typically runs two hours) and the guests who came on after me, the entire show can be streamed/downloaded from the show's archive, right HERE.

Enjoy!

ECHOES of

DARKNESS

(Or: let the back patting commence!)

Let me introduce you to my new book, Echoes of Darkness, a collection of thirteen storiessome quite short, some not verycurrently available for public purchase on February 28, 2016, on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and certain select physical outlets.

Echoes is coming to you from Books & Boos Press (a Connecticut-based small publisher) who commissioned the cover from artist Mikio Murakami of Silent Q Design, and I can't tell you how thrilled I wasand still amto have Mikio on board for this project.

Echoes of Darkness contains works chosen from my past five years as a published writer, as well as some new stories written specifically for this book. It's a blend of old and new, the first time so much of my best work has been gathered in one place, and I am extremely proud to be sharing it with my readers. No one who likes stories of suspense, ghosts, monsters, and mayhem, is going to walk away disappointed.
